Fall Fashion Fun at Stanford !

If you are a regular reader of this blog, you know that one of my favorite places to be on any given day is Stanford Shopping Center. This is not your regular mall.  It is an absolutely gorgeous outdoor promenade filled with the loveliest flowers, pretty cafes and some of the nicest shops.  Though I live in the South Bay, I'd rather drive the extra 15 minutes and soak up the beauty that is Stanford.

They also have some great fashion shows and events.  I was lucky to attend their last one in Spring featuring  Project Runways's, Tim Gunn, which you can read about here Simon Fashion Now,  which puts on these events, just sent me a notice of some very fun happenings coming up this weekend to kick off Fall Fashion. I wanted to share it with all of you so you can plan your weekend early in case you might  like to partake of the fun!

The weekend begins with a charity lunch and silent auction at 11:00 in the center pavilion featuring Wilkes-Bashford. The lunch benefits the Lucille Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford. This particular show is benefitting food allergy research and you can purchase tickets and get more info here. Then Friday night is Trends and Friends night. Bring a pal and enjoy light bites, cocktails, cosmetic demos, pampering and a runway fashion show, all beginning at 5:30, free to the public and in the center pavilion.  Is that not the perfect girlfriend evening?

As if this wasn't enough fun, Saturday at noon, come watch Design Wars. This design competition features students from San Francisco's Art Institute of California, judged by local celebrities.  I will be there and can't wait to see this.  The afternoon will continue with fashion runway shows on the hour from 1:00 until 3:00.  In between there will be Stylestops, where retailers will be offering advice about Fall trends along with pampering, samples and demos. And, between all of this will be a Ready, Set, Style competition where participants can compete for an American Express gift card! Runway giveaways will be offered as well as special promotions and discounts at many of the stores all day long.

Wow, I will probably be spending most of the weekend over at Stanford! I love to see the shows and how they interpret Fall looks.  Then I usually start looking for those key pieces I like to add to my closet.  I've been lucky enough to be asked to attend a blogger preview where I get to go backstage and see how Simon puts on these glamorous shows. I can't wait to learn all about it and share with you all in an upcoming post!

How do you do to get inspired for Fall? What's your thoughts on fashion shows? I have to say, I'm crazy about them and am just mesmerized watching them.

Have a great week!

  3. My best way to "inspire" a shopping trip is to switch out my summer clothes for the fall ones which are packed away. And with this heat (climbing into the 80's again) it will be awhile before I get to go Fall shopping!

Spring Fashion Week reports have been fun to follow. :-)

  4. I'm the opposite, nothing would get me to sit through a fashion show, I did look at pics of Tory Burch's online, though and I saw tons that i just loved.

  5. Looks like lots of fun and the mall you are describing sounds perfect for a shopping and lunch. I'm looking forward to the cooler temps.. it's cooling down already here in Seattle.

  6. You lucky thing! I am loving that yellow. I hope you get to a larger more comfortable seat than the ones I see all the celebs sitting on!
