Good Things for a Weekend Getaway..

Finally got away with the family this weekend to Monterey and it was so overdo! A few good things I packed...

Run, don't walk to Old Navy where by accident last week, I found they now carry ballet flats. I was in there looking for boy things and these caught my eye. Not only cute, but comfy. Being completely honest, these are more comfy than my expensive J Crew ones. They also come in darling patent orange, tweeds and silver and gold and black. $19.00! I plan on going back for a few other pairs. I hate cheap shoes and these are not anything like cheap shoes. Serious. This is a shoe you want to pack. They are virtually weightless and I've already spent many long comfy days with them on my feet.

I bought my self a bag with my birthday money. Something I do every year. This time I really had my eye on all the new Coach legacy leather bags with tassels. Have I mentioned before I have a thing for tassels? Anyhow, after much to decide from, I settled on this larger beige pebbled tote with black trim. I haven't ever had a bag in this color and I'm loving the large size and the adjustable shoulder strap that comes with it too. It can be a tote or a cross-body, which is nice depending on what I'm up to. For trips and weekends, it's the perfect bag! I'm loving Coach's new look. Lots of  beautiful style without the logos.

I also brought along a bit of reading materials for the down-time. This special edition guide is filled with many great ideas to get your wardrobe Fall ready. I especially loved the vintage photos they incorporated in each section. A terrific style guide for now.

And for the mom readers out there, who need a lift or some inspiration to up your game, this book is it! By a US Magazine editor, It's a well-written guide filled with photos of celeb moms and their style evolutions. Fun! I plan on finishing it this weekend. I loved this book.

I'm still working on my, What Really Matters, post and also a piece about getting away to Monterey coming up.

Enjoy your weekend and the extra hour of sleep! I Hope you get some me-time before we're on to the next holiday!

  3. Hello

Great finds. I have not been in Old Navy recently, but I bought ballet flats there last year, and I loved them. My friend has the same pair which is where I saw them first, and she called them her bedroom slippers. They are not like wearing shoes. Really nice.

Love your bag. And your feed updated in bloglovin and on my sidebar. Yea!!

    1. Leigh, Thanks so much for letting me know about Bloglovin. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't have known it wasn't working. The problem was I got my own domain and though blogspot forwards it, Bloglovin doesn't.

Yes, go figure Old Navy would have such great shoes!

    1. Thanks Leslie,
The Repetto flats are so pretty. Did you buy yours in France? Love those. You should check out the new bags at Coach. There were so many pretty color -blocked styles and some Kelly bag types I really wanted too.

  8. Hello Northern Cal friend!
You headed south and we headed west-took a little trip to the Napa Valley (my old stomping grounds). Wasn't the weather incredible?? So warm for November. Love the hot tip on the flats-super cute! Your Coach bag is perfection. With my birthday money this year I bought a pale gray Michael Kors. With the gray and gold-it goes with absolutely everything. It's my signature piece as I know this will be for you.
    Cheers, Heather
PS-I had my first guest blogger (a stylist to the stars-Anya Sarre-super fun for me). Take a peek if you get a chance. I look forward to hearing more about your trip to Monterey-such a gorgeous area.

  9. Oh my gosh orange patent flats at Old Navy? I *almost* wish I hadn't read that, but I'll toddle off tomorrow to get them, no doubt. I think I need that Lucky guide, too. Hope Monterey was great!
