VOTE!

Check out these cusTomized  election Toms at this facebook page

Huge day upon us here. I love election days. They're always so full of hope and promise and I like getting my kids excited about it too. Here in California, most people do absentee ballots, as do I.  I like to take my time going over all the propositions and then I usually drop my ballot at the nearest polling place on election day - no waiting in line.  This year I did it one day early and dropped it at city hall in my town.

Only thing about being in California is the election is often called before our polling places are even closed! One thing I do appreciate is all the seniors who seem to tirelessly staff the polling places. They are so nice and always happy to be there.

These lovely posters are on the AIGA site here. This one by Shelley A. Miller.

Today I am grateful to have the right to vote as I know there are still so many places in this world where others, especially women, still do not have that.

Go vote everyone. Happy Election Day!

  1. My husband and I do absentee voting weeks before the election. Some people say that's not a good idea because all the Presidential debates have not taken place yet but there is nothing that would've changed our minds about who to vote for.

What I never thought about doing is taking my absentee ballot to the polling place on election day. That way I can get a cute voting sticker like yours!
Next election, I am doing that for sure!

    1. Yes! It's so easy that way and you get your sticker! I love absentee ballot and would never go back to the other way now.

  3. Love those shoes for a start. Yes even my son was telling me someone was winning already. I was so happy to see some high school students along with the pensioners injecting some zazz into the proceedings. I do like the voting process, I actually voted in someones garage and there was quite a festive atmosphere - now just hoping for the result I want!

    1. Thanks Leigh. I'm glad you didn't have lines. I don't know why it's always bad in some places..

You have made today begin so happily for me with all your photos, memory souvenirs, recipe, table settings (love the tortoise glass with the golden mums) - I had so much catching up to do reading back to this post. :-)
