Well in the midst of the usual holiday catalog chaos arrived a few, "resort," catalogs. No bathing suits and glam sandals for me. Grumble. Yes, I'd like to be planning a trip to the tropics! However, at the moment I'm just trying to keep my head above water and conjure up a few gift ideas for my friends and family.
I usually like to hit the shops and see if I get inspired. Lately, I have had good luck with smaller mom and pop stores and have tried to shop local as much as I can. Online shopping though is getting so attractive now with all the free shipping and convenience. It's enough to make me want to burrow in at home with my laptop and a cappuccino. The thing with shopping is I keep finding things I want too. It's like that, one for you, one for me, thing. Maybe online shopping would help?
I thought I'd share a few gems I found this week online that go well with Northern California style.

This vase makes the perfect terrarium. Crate and Barrel always has items that look like they belong in Sunset Magazine. So simple and beautiful. You could change the plants with the seasons.

Who wouldn't want this very Californian, Bodega Bird Chalet? I can think of a lot of places to hang this.

Do you love whimsical ornaments? These cuties are now only $4.00 and come with free shipping right now at West Elm. They'd be darling tied on top of a package too.

I personally would be thrilled with two of these live ivy topiaries which are grown in California. They're a bit pricey, but you can have them delivered to your door...And wouldn't they just be perfect with small white lights wrapped around them for the holidays? The darling Isadora pot is sold separately. Both can be delivered by Christmas if you order by December 17! Santa are you reading this??

And for the more glamorous nature lover, how about this charming bangle from Kate Spade? The, "Have a Field Day," secret inscription makes it a really fun thing to own or give!

Something about this moose scarf.. Maybe it's the colors. It also comes in camel and red too. For the gal who can appreciate a warm neck with a wink..
Happy holiday shopping and happy weekend!

Hi Kim,
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful gift ideas. I keep forgetting to check West Elm.. they always have such great gift ideas. Those soaps look very nice and that book at the top looks like the perfect gift idea for my Mother {an avid gardener}.
Hope you are enjoying all the fun festivities of the season~ xxleslie
Love these ideas... love soaps, plants and the glass mercury vases! We must have been channeling similar blog posts!
ReplyDeleteKim, My christmas shopping ratio is currently, "TWO for me, one for you"!
ReplyDeleteNeeding to balance this quickly... shopping on line is my mode right now when I take breaks from decorating and laundry. Cozy (unshowered) at home is addictive!
Cheers!
